Shimano RAIDER TRAVEL RODS

Shimano’s comprehensive Shimano Raider rod range is developing all the time and now there are two travel rods as well — one baitcaster and one spin. Of three piece design, they break down to just 58 and 66 centimetres respectively, making them perfect for stowing away in luggage when on an interstate business trip, or perhaps backpacking into real wilderness country where longer rods would be too cumbersome.

When assembled, the spin rod is 6’ 6” overall and designed for three to five kilo line and lures from three to 12 grams, while the baitcaster is 5’ 9” long, ideal for five to eight kilo line, and will fling lures from 10 to 25 grams out of sight.

Just like their stablemates, these Shimano Raiders feature rich bronze blanks, cork grips, Fuji reel seats and Alconite guides, neat, minimalist bindings to keep weight down, and they’re designed by the Australian Rod Builder, Ian Miller. To top all this off, they also come with their own rod tube.
