Evinrude E-TEC introduces the DatatDotDNA security system.

Sydney, July 26, 2005 – BRP Australia Pty Ltd. (BRP Australia) has signed a supply agreement with DataDot, manufacturer of the DatatDotDNA security system

This agreement will offer peace of mind to BRP customers purchasing a 2005 Sea-Doo® watercraft or sport boat, a 2006 Evinrude® E-TEC® outboard engine or a 2006 Bombardier ATV* (adult products), in Australia and New Zealand after August 1st, 2005.

The microdots in each DataDotDNA kit are suspended in a clear drying UV traceable adhesive and are all etched with a DNA code that is easy for police to trace.

“DataDot technology is rapidly becoming the norm as a security measure. We see our agreement with DataDot as a positive and proactive solution to a problem that plagues each of the industries in which we operate", said Sam Heyes, Sales Director at BRP Australia.

With DataDotDNA, a series of tiny microdots printed with data are applied to the product in question.

This technology has already become the norm in the car industry where car manufacturers spray thousands of microdots printed with the vehicle’s identification number (VIN) on almost all components of new model cars.

The components can then be traced to the current registered owner of the vehicle.

A ‘Protected by DataDotDNA’ warning decal sends a clear message to thieves that the Bombardier ATV, Sea-Doo watercraft or sport boat or Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine is identifiable by police.

In a short time, DataDot technology has received the endorsement of the New South Wales Crime Squad. The UV trace in the adhesive makes it easy for authorities to detect.

With close inspection the police only need to locate one of the many hundreds of microdots applied to an item to confirm its true identity.
