2008 CARP FISH OUT COMPETITION
The second annual Carp Fish Out competition will be held on Parramatta River and aims to help restore the natural health of the river. Everyone is invited to come along and throw in a line for a chance to win some great prizes and guaranteed family fun. Bring your own gear.
When: 2 February 2008 10:00am to 4:30pm
Where: Parramatta River , between the Elizabeth Street Pedestrian Bridge and Charles Street Ferry Wharf . Parking is available in the Brand Smart car park and the Erby Place carpark.
Entry: Free, however registration is required and can be done on-line via email below or on the day at 9:30am
Event Description: Participants line the banks of the Parramatta River to fish for carp within a set timeframe. Prizes are awarded in various categories e.g. longest carp, heaviest carp, most carp, etc.
- Each participant will be given either 1.25 hours or 1.5 hours (depending on the session) to catch a carp in an allocated and marked position on the course. Bait is provided or bring your own.
- All carp caught are to be taken to the Weigh-in Marquee and your fish is recorded. At this time you will receive your sample bag.
- Prizes awarded at 1.00pm and 4.00pm
How to Enter: Simply send us a email to carp-comp@sportsfish.com.au with your full name and nominate one of the 4 preferred fishing times.
Fishing times:
10.00am to 11.30am (1.5 hours)
11.30am to 1.00pm (1.5 hours)
1.30pm to 2.45pm (1.25 hours)
2.45pm to 4.00pm (1.25 hours)
What you Need: A rod & reel, a few hooks, bait or lures, chair, hat, sunscreen. A Fishing Licence is NOT required for the event.

This event is proceeding under a permit from NSW Department of Primary industries. All captured carp are humanely disposed of.
What's Parramatta City Council doing to improve the health
of the Parramatta River
The Healthy Waterways Program aims to enhance and rehabilitate the waterways
corridor by implementing actions such as bank stabilisation, revegetation and
improvement to fish habitat.
PCC is doing a wide range of actions to improve the health of the Parramatta
