Shimano have revisited two of their most popular baitcasters for the
2003/2004 season, and added another to this entry-level lineup.
The new Callisto CSO 100 is smoke grey with chrome trim, while the reborn
Crestfire CR 100 D is champagne in colour with gold trim, and the Coriolis
CO 100 E is olive green with gold trim.
With their low profile shapes and exciting colour schemes, all three
look pretty hot.
Retrieve speeds are a snappy 6.2:1, while line capacities of all three
are 250 metres of three kilo, putting them into the light/medium class
of baitcaster reels.
The Callisto has one stainless steel bearing and one roller bearing,
the Crestfire two A-RB bearings and one roller bearing, and the Coriolis
has three A-RB bearings and one roller bearing.
All have Super Stopper and Assist Stopper infinite anti-reverse, which
removes any backplay in the winding mechanism, and they also feature an
easy to understand dial-up magnetic cast control system.
This, coupled with their competitive pricing structure, makes them perfect
for newcomers just getting started in the wonderful world of baitcasters.
