IFINDER POCKET POWERHOUSE
Lowrance has just announced major upgrades to its iFinder series of hand
held GPS models, reducing the range to just three very potent models.

A new top-of-the-range model has been introduced in the form of the iFinder
Pro. A GPS/mapping machine, it manages to jam 240 x 180 pixels into the
screen for the finest detail ever available on a hand held GPS.
Further improved by new LED back lighting for night time viewing, a screen
with this sort of resolution has been a major short coming with top line
hand helds in the past. Now you can clearly see all of the detail packed
into today's Navionics charts.
This highly accurate model is a 12 parallel channel machine offering
higher speed screen updates and scrolling with dual processors. It has
one internal slot for industry standard MMC cards and Navionics mapping.
Memory is huge with up to 100 routes, 1,000 waypoints or event markers.
It also handles up to 100 savable plot trails with up to 10,000 points
per trail. The machine offers 42 different graphic icons to mark special
spots.
All important map ranges are from a tight 0.03km to a wide 6,400km. The
machine is powered by two AA batteries which operate up to 12 hours or
longer, and these are backed up by a back-up memory system that keeps
data safe for years.
A waterproof, floating travel pouch comes as part of the package which
carries a full two year warranty with optional two year extension. The
compact nature of the iFinder allows it to be used in boats with a RAM
cradle fitted, as a bush bashing tool, or as a useful tool in on and off
road vehicles.
Another new model is the iFinder H20, which is essentially the internals
of the iFinder Pro in a totally waterproof case. This is ideal for use
in boats used in rough water where spray is taken inboard, and also in
sensitive craft such as canoes and kayaks.
Remaining in the range is the standard iFinder GPS/Plotter which is similar
in specifications to the iFinder Pro, but without the mapping capability.
The big plus is the astonishing price for such a quality instrument which
carries an RRP under $350.00.
With more and more fishermen taking a more versatile approach to their
fishing, the portability of a hand held GPS combined with improved performance
and low pricing makes them an essential part of your fishing life.
