There ugly buggers those things, I remember when i was younger catching these at Deniliquin. They make a top worming frame too. worms can't resist the.
Good catch!! :D |
"In every species of fish I've angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn't, much of the thrill of angling would be gone."

| Carp ? Carp? Who cares about those stinkin things. Ok So they are creatures of our waterways NOW, but that doesn't mean we have to like them. Thank the lord for our island home, we can fish the salt to be away from them. And dont get me wrong, I have fished plenty of fresh water streams ...lakes etc. I still fish our impoundments and pay for the privalage, and guess what.... no CARP. |
Im never wrong. I thought I was once, but I was incorrect. |

The rain held back, but the carp did not. Caught 18 with the largest at 9.5 kg they were goin off for a while. My dad in the photo pictured next to me done it pretty tough, he was fishin right next to me but it just wasnt happenin for him, he wasnt to worried he says hes caught plenty off fish over the years. We all have those days i suppose so dont feel to bad if next time your that guy.

| thats a lot of fertiliser ,do you still have to kill every carp caught (because they are illegal immigrants )or have the dpi stopped that practice |
i'll throw a lure into a puddle not to see if there's anything in there but cos I'M GONNA catch the biggest fish in there |

| Have to be careful how i answer that one, that subject opened up a huge can of worms last time it was discussed. It is my understanding that they dont have to be killed and can be released back into the water where they were caught but cannot be transported live. You wont catch me releasing the mongrels. |

Mr Google tells me that in NSW & ACT, "because carp are a significant pest DPI strongly encourages anglers to humanely dispatch and utilise or responsibly dispose of captured carp rather than returning them to the water. Note: it is illegal to use live carp as bait."And...."In Victoria and Queensland Carp are declared noxious. In these States, live Carp must not be returned to the water and must be destroyed when caught." Unfortunately States have their own policies on Carp management, but wouldn't it be great for once if Australia as a nation all pulled in the same direction and put in a joint effort to attack this major problem. |

| never fished for carp but if i ever catch one ..,i figure it will fertilise a eucalypt away from the waters edge , if it is acceptable in that state.. ihave also heard that large murray cod are starting to eat carp |
