Does anyone know where I can download a map/chart of reefs off Pittwater and Lion Island.
Being new to the North Shore, any tips you can offer to make the small amount of water time I can extract more efficient would be appreciated. I am particularly keen to target some squid and kingfish.
This will be a great start, the maps provide a good indication of some of the areas I have explored to date and explains my mixed success. I am without a gps/sounder at the moment so they will be very useful until Santa delivers on his HDS8 promise. thanks
I googled GPS points sydney/hawkesbury a while back for my father in law who takes me out when I visit the big smoke and found pages of them like juno point, flint and steel and outside marks. haven't had the chance to test them but hopefully next year. This is the link Ihope. http://www.marinews.com/fishing_gps_listing.php?sid=2
behind every fisherman is a great story!(Some not very true!!)
Can't wait to get my chartplotter fitted and start locking in on some productive grounds.
I found a good supply of foot-long slimy's last weekend and salted some down, hope to get out one night over the x-mas break to chase some bream under the Hawksbury bridges.
I could not get onto the yellowtail though and failed on some squid drifts, so still on the hunt for some visual/landmark pointers until I get electronically established. I was told there is a spot for yellowtail off one of the old gun emplacements, so will keep a look out for this next time.
