Your right there Shane

if we can get enough momentum behind it we should be able to put substantial pressure on Iemma Gov't

but i'm sure Neil will come through shortly

would it be better to invite him to join site (if he is not a member already)and reply himself
that way there is no chance of any misinterpretation or misquotes
(unintentional)

Cap,

Sorry for the delay in responding.

ACoRF has written to the Minister on the Bass Point de-listing.

I am advised that the Minister is formulating his reply via the Department and that that reply is forthcoming.

I will advise when I receive it.

Re the NCC action, as ACoRF recommended on 26 April 2007 that RecFish Australia to represent NSW anglers in the Tribunal process involving the Nature Conservation Council's appeal for more rigid protection measures to be applied to the grey nurse aggregation sites (including recreational fishing).

An application for funding has been received and I am happy to support that funding provided that ACoRF is involved in the consultation and arguments of the case.

I am advised that Recfish has applied to be joined to the case today.

Neil

It's disappointing that it took Recfish so long and that such heavy lobbying was required by multiple parties to get them to join the case. I believe they SHOULD have been the first in, off their own bat, to stick up for rec angler's interests. I guess the lack of funds was the reason for their hesitation?

Cheers

I am aware that the NCC is objecting to anyone becoming a party to the case.

I wonder why??

Any news yet on from the minister on the letter sent?

also has ACoRF had any imput on the further closures that may be forth coming November re GNS,

the minutes from ACoRF meetings and time frame it takes to get them available to public is way to long

The last known meeting was in July it's now October,

also there is no real contact point with ACoRF it's not easy to find and put genuine questions and gripes too. especially for the average Joe!

Our Licence money funds this and personally i dont see value for my money in the ACoRF process ( this does not includes the Rec Trust Committee's) but ACoRF,

My thoughts exactly, cap . The last available info is the DRAFT outcomes from a meeting in APRIL. Six months ago. Not good enough .

There isn't even any contact details for ACoRF on the NSW DPI website. And they are supposedly our "representative body". It's a disgrace. Although I understand that DPI do the admin work for ACoRF, so if that's true, it's not likely to improve soon .

Cheers

Well guys I am all but over ACoRF .

The current LABOUR Minister apparently has had the new names to be approved for committee but for the last number of months has sat on them.

It seems that meetings can't be called until this issue has been finalised?

The last "official" email on this matter from the DPI was dated 10/07/07.

I have email a number of times re the next meeting but no response.

They keep sending out of sessions stuff to us for approval but at the moment I reject all of them until some-one pulls their finger out of their arse and get on with the task!

Sounds about right, sorry to hear it's frustrating you too Neil.

So what can we do to change the sitation?

Cheers

Surely meeting frequency is set in your constitution?

Generally have triggers in constitutions too, so members can get some numbers united or contact chairman to trigger urgent/late meetings.

Thanks for the candid reply Neil,

It sure is a shame that representatives on the council, are frustrated with it's inadequacies and failings,

i really think at the next meeting the council should put it to the hands, to have a vote of no confidence in the minister!
