FISHING RULES WINDAMERE GOLDEN CLASSIC: 2006

1. The Windamere Golden Classic Fishing Competition is catch and release only.

2. Only fly and lure fishing is permitted.

3. Each angler may only fish with one hand held rod and reel at any one time, (even when trolling).

4. Fish are to be measured, not weighed. Points are awarded for total length of fish not weight of fish.

5. Fishing is only permitted in the backed up waters of Lake Windamere. In the event of high rainfall, fishing is not permitted within 150m of the entry point of any run-off, creek or tributary to the lake.

6. Four native species of fish, the golden perch, silver perch, catfish and Murray cod are eligible for point scoring in this competition, all being awarded one point per centimetre (nearest centimetre). No other species will be eligible for point scoring purposes.

7. Eligible fish must be immediately measured and witnessed by another team member and returned to the water alive and in good health.

8. To claim the Biggest Fish Prize, the successful angler must also have the fish measured (or the measuring witnessed), time of capture recorded and signed off by a registered member from another competing team. In the event of a tie the first fish is declared the winner.

9. Any fish that is killed by an angler or dies before release is ineligible to receive any points.

10. Each team shall be responsible for accurately and completely filling out and signing the teams score cards for each session, and returning the cards to the officials within 45 minutes of the completion of each session. Point penalties for late card returns will apply.

11. Only fish caught during the designated fishing times are counted.

12. Teams will consist of three registered and licensed anglers and are permitted to use only one boat per team. By arrangement, larger family groups are welcomed although only three rods can be used at any one time (the intention of this amendment is to encourage junior anglers, and Family Status will only be granted via application to the organisers). All boats must carry the approved safety equipment required by the Waterways Authority. Shoreline fishing is permitted.

13. The overall Champion Team, and second and third placed teams, shall be decided by adding the total number of points accrued by teams over each of the three fishing sessions.

14. The overall Champion Angler, Champion Lady Angler and Champion Junior Angler shall be decided by adding the total number of points accrued by individual anglers over each of the three fishing sessions.

15. Junior Anglers are to be 16 years and under as at November 3rd, 2006.

16. The fishing tournament organisers have final say in any disputed matters. Their decision is final.

17. All anglers will fish at their own risk and discretion.

18. Fish hard, fish fair.
